Human measurements are categorized under several ways, they are: regarding gender [Female or Male], age group [0-6 months, 1 yr baby, toddler, school going, teen age, adult, pantaloons], society, etc., it may change..,
The necessary of considering body measurements are:
To construct the garments well fitted to body,
Patterns can be drafting and garments can be stitched by the use of measurements, also we can use the same measurement chart for several types of styles
When we are buying general measurement chart and plan to correct that pattern to one’s body fitness, measurement is must
How to prepare for measuring the human body measurements?
The thing needed for measuring are: Good quality measurement tape which should not get stretched in any way, more frequently we need to change measurement tape.
Measurements should be taken over a flat smooth surface
Before ready to take measurements, need to tie a cord around the waist portion for fitting Stand straight with arms suspending straight at the sides
Take comfortable measurements, exclude tight of loose fitted
Tape must be parallel to the floor for horizontal measurements and perpendicular to the floor for vertical measurements
